In the world of business, your brand is more than just a logo—it’s your identity, your reputation, and the flag you fly in the marketplace. Brand ownership goes beyond the paperwork, the LLC filings, and the trademark protections. It’s about how you represent your business every single day, and that includes how you wear your brand.

Branding Isn’t Just Visual—It’s Personal

When you put on a company shirt, hat, or jacket, you’re not just throwing on some fabric—you’re putting on a statement. People will associate you with your brand based on how you carry yourself, how you interact with others, and how much confidence you exude. If you walk into a room wearing your logo but don’t believe in what it stands for, it shows. If you wear it with pride, people notice that too.

For those of us who have served in the military, this concept isn’t new. Wearing a uniform comes with expectations—discipline, pride, and responsibility. Your company brand should be no different. If you can’t stand behind your own brand, how can you expect customers to trust it?

The Impact of Wearing Your Brand

1. Instant Recognition – Every time you step out wearing your brand, you create awareness. Whether it’s at a trade show, a networking event, or just running errands, people see it. It sparks conversations and builds familiarity.

2. Credibility & Professionalism – Showing up in branded apparel, especially when meeting customers or partners, adds legitimacy. It signals that you take your business seriously and that your brand is worth representing.

3. Marketing on the Move – Think of it as a walking billboard. Every hat, shirt, or jacket with your logo is free advertising. Whether you’re in line at the grocery store or grabbing coffee, people see it. Some will even ask about it—giving you an opportunity to engage and sell without hard selling.

4. Team Unity & Culture – If you have employees or partners, wearing the brand instills a sense of unity. It creates a culture where people feel like they’re part of something bigger. Just like a sports team or a military unit, shared branding fosters belonging.

5. Setting the Example – If you’re the owner and don’t wear your brand, why should anyone else? Leadership starts at the top. When people see you consistently repping your company, they respect it—and it sets the standard for your team and customers alike.

How to Wear It Right

• Keep It Sharp – A faded, stretched-out, or dirty logo shirt does more harm than good. If you’re going to represent your brand, do it right.

• Own the Look – Whether it’s casual or professional, make sure your branding fits the setting. A crisp polo for business events, a rugged hoodie for hands-on work—it all matters.

• Match the Attitude – A logo on your chest doesn’t mean anything if your attitude doesn’t back it up. If you wear it, own it—engage with confidence, shake hands firmly, and always be ready to talk about what you do.

Brand Ownership is a Lifestyle

At the end of the day, wearing your company’s brand is about more than just clothing—it’s about owning your business at every level. Your brand should be something you’re proud of, something you want to display. When people see you in it, they should know exactly what you stand for.

So, the next time you throw on that company hat or zip up that branded hoodie, ask yourself—are you just wearing it, or are you owning it?

At the end of the day, wearing your company’s brand is about more than just clothing—it’s about owning your business at every level. Your brand should be something you’re proud of, something you want to display. When people see you in it, they should know exactly what you stand for.

And if you think wearing your brand every day is excessive, just remember—no one questions a Paladin for always wearing their armor. Branding is my plate mail, and I wear it with the same conviction.

Now you know why I wear my brand like a uniform daily. Wear Your Brand Proud!

Improvising, Adapting, and Overcoming: A Journey of Resilience in Business

When Cassandra Gordon & I first launched our business in 2017/2018 now known as MilTreats LLC it wasn’t easy and we had no clue what we were doing. We were brimming with enthusiasm and a vision. In 2019, reality quickly set in when we were almost hit with an almost $10,000 fine for violating 14 different codes and regulations when we decided to offer shipping while making our CRE’s in my Kitchen. Navigating the complex web of rules from the city of San Diego, the county, the state of California, and the FDA was a daunting challenge that tested our resilience from the start.

Our journey took a positive turn when we discovered Warrior Rising , an organization that helped us understand the intricacies of business and introduced us to a great network. With their guidance, we applied the principles of improvisation, adaptation, and overcoming adversity in practical ways. The military has ingrained in us, and many veteran entrepreneurs, the mindset to always be ready to pivot and find solutions in the face of uncertainty.

Just when we thought we were in the clear, we faced another hurdle: packaging issues that arose after production was already complete. It was a tough lesson in the importance of meticulous planning and attention to detail.

Today, we’re facing a new challenge: we’ve outgrown our manufacturer and distribution facility, which were one and the same. To navigate this, we’re improvising and adapting by pivoting to temporary shipping and distribution solutions while we search for a new facility.

The military has taught us that each obstacle is an opportunity to grow stronger and more resilient. Improvising, adapting, and overcoming isn’t just a mantra; it’s a way of life that continues to guide us through our entrepreneurial journey.
